What to expect

Meet, kit up & brief. We’ll get you into the right kit, fit buoyancy aids and run a clear briefing before launching. We’ll also talk through the day’s plan based on conditions.

Launch & settle in. We start by finding a relaxed rhythm: efficient strokes, steering, and how to feel confident in coastal water. If you’re newer to sea kayaking, you’ll be coached as you go.

Castle views from the sea. Dunstanburgh looks completely different from the water — big cliffs, open sky and a dramatic approach that you simply don’t get on foot.

Nesting birds & coastline character. Castle Point can be alive with seabirds in season. We keep things respectful: steady pace, space for wildlife, and time to watch rather than rush.

Stops built in. We pause for photos and “look at that” moments when it suits the group and the conditions — this session is designed to feel calm and unhurried.

Everything included. Kayak, paddle, wetsuit and buoyancy aid — plus guidance throughout.

If you want a sea kayaking trip with a real “wow” viewpoint, this is the one.

Season, wildlife & conditions

We mainly run May to October, when conditions are best on the Northumberland coast. This trip is especially rewarding during the nesting season around Castle Point — and we always keep wildlife space and run the day respectfully.

If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll offer reschedule options or alternatives. If we can’t accommodate changes, we’ll refund in line with our terms.
