Our Classic Coasteering route at Howick is one of the best ways to experience the Northumberland coast from sea level. You will explore rocky inlets, sea caves, channels and short swims with a qualified guide, using a route chosen to suit both the conditions and your group.

What to expect from Classic Coasteering in Howick
Meet & kit up. We’ll get you into wetsuits, fit buoyancy aids and helmets, and run a clear, friendly briefing before heading to the coast.
The route. This Classic session uses a family-friendly stretch of coastline near Howick with caves, gullies and short swims. The day is always adapted to the sea conditions and your group.
Optional jumps. You’ll see plenty of jump opportunities — but nothing is compulsory. There’s nearly always an easier route, and your guide will help you choose what feels right.
Support throughout. Your guides manage tides, timing and route choice so you can focus on enjoying the experience at your own pace, with coaching and encouragement as needed.

This is our most accessible coasteering session in Northumberland, designed for families, younger participants and adults who want a fun guided adventure without pressure. Jumps are always optional and there is nearly always an easier line.
Please bring swimwear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel for afterwards, and trainers or secure footwear that can get wet. We provide wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets.
Meet at our base near Craster NE66 3SS, adjacent to HM Coastguard Station. Changing rooms and toilets are available. Please do not confuse this with the lifeboat station. Full directions are sent after booking.
