Do I need any experience?
No experience is needed. Our instructors will show you how to move safely over rocks, enter the water confidently, and enjoy every part of the adventure.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a swimsuit, towel, and old trainers that can get wet. We provide wetsuits, helmets, and buoyancy aids.
Is coasteering safe?
Yes — all sessions are fully guided by trained and insured instructors. We provide all the necessary safety equipment and a thorough briefing before we start.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety always comes first. If the weather or sea conditions make it unsafe to run your activity, we will:
- Try to rearrange your session for another date or time.
- Offer an alternative activity such as kayaking.
- If neither option works, we’ll issue a full refund.
What’s the minimum age?
- Classic Coasteering at Howick: 8+
- All other coasteering activities: 12+
How long does a session last?
Most coasteering sessions last around 2–3 hours, including the safety briefing and time to get kitted up.
Can I bring my GoPro or camera?
Yes — as long as it’s securely attached (for example, with a chest or helmet mount). Our guides also often take photos during the session.
Kayaking FAQs
Do I need to have kayaked before?
Not at all! Our sessions are designed for everyone, from beginners to confident paddlers, and our instructors tailor each trip to your ability.

What happens if I capsize?
No problem! Our guides will show you how to get back on safely — our kayaks are stable and perfect for beginners.
Where do you kayak?

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
You just need to be comfortable in the water. You’ll always wear a buoyancy aid and be supervised by qualified instructors.
Will photos be available?
