Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings made with Adventure Northumberland Ltd, including bookings marketed or sold under the trading names Adventure Northumberland and Peak Adventures.

We provide guided and instructional outdoor activities only. We do not sell or arrange accommodation, transport services, or travel packages.
2. Scope of services
- Guided and instructional outdoor activities including coasteering, sea kayaking, climbing, abseiling, mountain walking and outdoor skills.
- Activities are delivered in the UK only.
- No accommodation, flights, ferries, or travel services are sold or arranged.
3. Bookings & payment
- A booking is confirmed once accepted by us and confirmation is issued.
- Payment terms are stated at checkout or in your booking confirmation.
- Where deposits are offered, the balance must be paid by the stated due date.
- Failure to pay the balance may result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
4. Prices & changes
- Prices are as published at the time of booking.
- Minor operational changes may be made without affecting your booking.
- Significant changes will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.
5. Cancellations & refunds
How to cancel: Email hello@adventurenorthumberland.co.uk with your booking reference.
Client cancellations
- 14+ days before the activity: refund minus any non-refundable fees.
- 7–13 days before the activity: 50% refund.
- 0–6 days before the activity: no refund.
Our cancellations
- If we cancel an activity, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund or credit.
- We are not responsible for third-party costs such as travel or accommodation.
6. Weather, conditions & safety decisions
Outdoor activities are subject to variable conditions including weather, sea state, tides, terrain, water levels, and group capability. Guides may change venues, routes, timings, or activities in the interest of safety.
Safety-based changes do not automatically entitle participants to a refund.
7. Participant responsibilities & inherent risk
- Participants must follow all safety instructions and guidance from staff.
- Unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in removal without refund.
- Participants must arrive suitably equipped and prepared.
- Alcohol or drug use prior to participation is not permitted.
Acknowledgement of inherent risk: Outdoor adventure activities involve inherent risks including slips, falls, cold water immersion, waves, tides, moving water, weather, and remoteness. Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own risk.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
8. Consent forms & waivers
As part of our safety and risk management procedures, all participants are required to complete a consent form prior to taking part in an activity.
- Consent forms may be completed using an online/digital waiver system or a paper-based consent form.
- Both digital and paper consent forms have equal validity.
- By completing a consent form, participants confirm they understand the activity information and inherent risks.
- Failure to complete a required consent form may result in refusal to participate without refund.
9. Health & medical
- Participants confirm they are medically and physically fit to take part.
- Relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or medication must be disclosed in advance.
- Participants are responsible for bringing and administering their own medication.
10. Equipment
- Provided equipment must be used correctly and returned as instructed.
- Loss or deliberate damage may be charged.
11. Children & safeguarding
- Minimum ages vary by activity and are stated on booking pages.
- Under-18s require parental or guardian consent.
- Safeguarding procedures are in place and available on request.
12. Incidental local transport
Local transport (for example a company minibus) may be provided solely to facilitate access to activity locations. This transport is incidental to the activity and is not sold as a transport service.
- Participants must follow driver and guide instructions.
- Seatbelts must be worn where fitted.
13. Late arrival / non-attendance
- Late arrival may result in exclusion for safety reasons.
- No refund is due for late arrival or non-attendance.
14. Photos & media
- Photos or video may be taken during activities for training or marketing purposes.
- Please inform your guide if you do not wish to appear in media.
15. Liability
- We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
- We are not responsible for events outside our reasonable control.
16. Personal property
- Participants are responsible for their own belongings.
- We are not liable for loss or damage unless caused by negligence.
17. Complaints

Personal data is processed in accordance with UK data protection law. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.
19. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
